Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for my first appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, previous dentist’s information (so that we can obtain current X-rays) and arrive 20 minutes early to fill out the appropriate intake paperwork.

What dental insurances do you accept?

While we accept all insurance plans, we are only in-network with Delta Dental, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and United Concordia. Being out of network means that we can still bill your insurance, but they will not pay as much towards your services as an office that is in-network.

Please keep in mind that we bill your insurance as a courtesy. Your insurance coverage is a contract between you, your employer, and your insurance company.

What should I do if I require a Premedication?

For your first visit, your premedication referral needs to come from your surgeon. Please let them know that you intend to visit the dentist, and they will call in the necessary medication. For each appointment thereafter, please inform your Assistant or Hygienist and give them the name of your pharmacy and any allergies. We will call that premed in for you and make sure it’s at your pharmacy the Thursday before the week of your appointment.

Are your offices accessible to patients with disabilities?

Absolutely! Please let us know ahead of time if you would like us to make any special arrangements for you.

Can my 17-year-old bring his 6-year-old sister to her appointment?

A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18 during an office visit.

Do you treat children?

Yes! Western Sky Dental welcomes young patients from the age of six and up. It’s important to start caring for your oral health early, and we’re here to help your child have good dental experiences from the get-go. All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during an office visit.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes! As a new patient, your first appointment will include a comprehensive exam and may include X-rays and a consultation with your office manager. They will answer all your questions, go over your treatment plan and pricing options, and will help you schedule future appointments.

Is the dentist in the office licensed?

Yes! Dr. Davis and Dr. Ashdown are both fully licensed in the state of Wyoming.

Can I schedule a first appointment just for a cleaning?

At Western Sky Dental, we believe in catching problems early so we can fix them, not simply overlooking them.  An initial exam to check your oral health is your essential first step to having a healthy mouth. Based on your oral health, your dentist will create a comprehensive treatment plan. Your hygienist will then schedule your appointment for a cleaning.
